0040 hours – Box Alarm – Sparta & Livernois, fire reported in an occupied dwelling, Central has no address. Engines 34, 17, 39, Ladder 22, Squad 4, Chief 5. Engine 34 on scene stretching on a dwelling on Walton Street and requested an additional company (Engine 27). Chief 5 reported a fire in a 2 story, vacant, dwelling holding all companies. The fire was placed under control in 30 minutes and all searches were clear. A few minutes after this box was dispatched, a box on Lahser Rd in the far northwest sent companies to a dwelling fire. Companies had a 1.5 story dwelling going that resulted in 3 fatalities.
