2319 hours – Box Alarm – Addison between McGraw & Dennison, report of a dwelling fire at 5656 Addison Street. Engines 29, 33, 39, Ladder 13, Squad 4, Chief 2. Engine 27 and 42X became available from previous runs and were assigned to the box. Engine 33 was placed in service and Engine 39 diverted to a still alarm. Chief 7 left a working dwelling at 32nd & Rich to take in the Addison Street box. Engine 42X on scene stretching on a dwelling. Chief 7 on scene assumed incident command and requested another company for manpower (Engine 33). All companies were evacuated from the fire building. Chief 7 requested a working tower (Ladder 6). Fire involved 3 dwellings. Complete overhaul could not be completed due to building collapse.
