2242 hours – Commercial Box Alarm, Grove & Schaefer, fire reported in a duplex at Grove & Schaefer, Central has no address. Engines 30, 40, 53, 42, Ladders 17, 25, Squads 1, 5, Chiefs 4, 2. Engine 30 on scene with smoke showing and will be stretching. Engine 53 reported fire on the second floor of an occupied, 2 story, apartment building (College Grove Apartments) at 16625 Schaefer Highway. Chief 4 requested 2 additional companies for manpower (Engines 44, 54). Chief 4 later requested the second alarm (Engines 59, 55, 44, 57, Ladders 18, 26, Squads 2, 4, Chiefs 5, 7). Fire extended into the cockloft.
