Seven Mile and Danbury for a building fire. Engines 44, 40, 30, 35, 56, Ladders 18, 17, Squads 2, 5, Chiefs 8, 5. The fire was located 2 blocks up from the quarters of E44/L18/Ch8 and Engine 44 stretched with smoke showing. Companies had to use the saws to cut metal roll up doors. Interior crews had difficulty locating the fire, high heat, possibly in the ceiling. Due to deteriorating conditions, Chief 8 ordered all companies out of the building, and crews took a defensive posture. Engine 56 stretched into Ladder 17. Chief 8 special called a tower ladder to the scene (Ladder 7). Complete overhaul and searches could not be completed due to structural collapse. Unoccupied party store. Companies responded back to location at least once for a rekindle.
