3/23/14 - Swatara Township - Paxton St

Shortly before 1700 hours, Box 49-2 toned out for 3300 Paxton Street at the “Scottsdale Plaza” for a reported working structure fire. Command 49 had an electrical fire to the rear of a one story, strip mall that was partially under renovation. A full first alarm assignment was requested to the scene. Due to the electrical nature of the fire companies stretched lines and set up aerial operations but had to wait for PP&L to shut down service to the building. Once the power was secured companies moved in with a hand line on the roof to knock down the fire. Members opened up and check for extension before placing the fire under control in about 45 minutes. This was the fifth working structure fire in 10 days that involved companies from the Swatara Township area.
