3/20/14 - Harrisburg, PA - Market St

At 0441 hours, Box 1-4 sent companies to 1843 Market Street for a sructure fire with possible entrapment. Due to the information received, Dauphin County Communications initiated the first alarm assignment while units were enroute. Tower 1 arrived on location reporting heavy fire from the first floor and they were going into rescue mode. Captain 4 (Wise) arrived on location and assumed command. Squad 8 secured a hydrant, stretched a line to the front door, and advanced on a well involved living room. Firefighter Emanuel Stout from Tower 1 located a semi-conscious victim on the second floor and was assisted by other members in removing the occupant from the second floor window. The bulk of the fire was knocked in 5 minutes and contained to the area of origin. At least two pets were also removed from the dwelling by city firefighters with one unfortunately not able to be revived. The fire was placed under control in about 20 minutes. Untis on scene: Squad 8, Wagon 4, Engine 6, Tower 1, Rescue 69, and Air 13.
