1/3/23 - Harrisburg, PA - Hummel St

At 1814 hours, Box 1-4 sent Squad 8, Wagon 4, Tower 1, Truck 2, and Battalion Chief 7 (Bastinelli) to 355 Hummel Street in the city’s Allison Hill neighborhood for a porch fire. Chief 7 advised by the County the caller indicated dogs on fire on the porch, which proved to be unfounded after companies arrived. Squad 8 arrived with smoke showing from the rear and secured a hydrant at Hummel and Swatara Streets. Chief 7 reported a 3 story, ordinary, row of 10 with fire in the rear of the two end units. A first alarm assignment brought Wagon 3, Truck 32, Rescue 69, and Air 13 to the scene. Firefighters received reports of a child trapped on the second floor and occupants at the third floor windows early on. All primary and secondary searches were negative. Multiple lines were placed in service knocking down the bulk of the fire in 10 minutes and keeping damage to the back of the dwellings. 7 adults and 2 children displaced.
