7/1/22 - Harrisburg, PA - Kittatinny St

At 1937 hours, multiple calls were being received by Dauphin County 911, reporting a residential structure fire at 1248 Kittatinny Street in the city’s Allison Hill neighborhood. The initial box alarm sent Squad 8, Wagon 4, Tower 1, Truck 2, and Battalion Chief 6 (Bradford) to the scene. As Squad 8 swung the right onto Kittatinny from S. 13th Street, smoke was visible in the street and they reported heavy fire to the rear. Chief 6 requested the first alarm bringing Wagon 3, Truck 32, Rescue 69, Air 13, and Chief 1 (Enterline) to the scene. Squad 8 laid a line into side A and secured their own water while Tower 1 pulled behind the Squad. Wagon 4 assisted with stretching lines. Truck 2 set up on Evergreen Street on the B side and Wagon 3 secured water from Hummel Street supplying Truck 32. Multiple lines were stretched from the Squad into the exposures and the rear to knock down heavy fire. The fire building was a 3 story, brick, row of four dwellings in which the middle two were marked as no entry per the fire bureau. Exterior lines were used on these two dwellings and a partial collapse occurred on the C side. Chief 1 requested an extra 2 and 1 and to activate recall to the scene with Engines 2, 301, 50, and Truck 34 handling the special call. Eventually the balance of the second alarm would be requested as extensive opening up and humid temperatures required more manpower. Aggressive interior work and master streams from Tower 1 and Truck 32 knocked down the bulk of fire in about 20 minutes and the fire placed under control at 2039 hours. At least one of the homes were occupied and an unknown number of residents were displaced.
