2/24/22 - Penn Township, PA - Petersburg Ln

At 0749 hours, Perry County Box 2-06 sent Engines 2, 9, 6, Rescue 2, Trucks 2, 10, and Tankers 2, 9, 6 to 77 Petersburg Lane in Penn Township for a residential structure fire. Duncannon Chief 2 (Worner) went enroute and was advised of numerous calls being received. Chief 2 arrived with heavy fire showing from side A and shortly after requested the second alarm. This brought Engines 8, 29, 29-1, 38, RIT 20, Tanker 38, and Air 13 to the scene. The fire building was a 2.5 story, occupied, row home with fire on the first floor extending to the common loft. Duncannon Rescue 2 arrived and hooked up to the hydrant at the end of the cul-de-sac. Truck 2 took a position on side A. Numerous holes were placed in the roof to vent and cut off fire extension in the common loft. Several lines were stretched and operated and crews were able to knock the bulk of the fire down in about 10 minutes. Companies chased hot spots by opening void spaces and command marked control at 0918 hours. Reports of possibly three occupants trapped proved negative as those residents were accounted for. One dog was removed from the building and turned over to the owner. Seven adults and 2 children were displaced in the fire that affected 5 homes.
