12/21/22 - New Cumberland, PA - Market St

At 0740 hours, Box 10-01 sent Engine Companies 10, 13, 68, Trucks 10, 69, and Squad 13 to 224 Market Street for a house fire. Chief 10 went enroute, advised by Headquarters they received several calls reporting fire in the attic, and they were starting the first alarm. Engine Companies 12, 14, Truck 12, Rescue 14, RIT 40, and Air 13 made up the working fire companies. Chief 1-10 arrived shortly after dispatch reporting a 2.5 story, residential, structure with heavy fire on the C side. 2 lines were stretched for initial fire attack and crews were able to make a good knockdown of the fire. Companies had to open up the attic area particularly around the eaves to contain extension. An exposure dwelling suffered melted siding. No injuries were reported. Interestingly, a second alarm fire occurred directly across the street on May 20, 2022 that heavily damaged a dwelling.
