1/21/22 - Harrisburg, PA - Briggs St

At 1322 hours, shortly after clearing a reported smoke from the building call in the 1-1 Box, Squad 8, Wagon 3, Tower 1, Truck 2, and Battalion Chief 7 (Bastinelli) were sent to 1927 Forster Street for a house fire with possible entrapment. Chief 7 quickly requested a first alarm as he had heavy smoke in the distance while enroute. Wagon 4, Rescue 69, Truck 34, Air 13, and Chiefs 1, 2, 3 made up the working fire assignment. Chief 7 arrived to a 2.5 story, wood frame, dwelling with the second and third floor on the B side well involved. The fire building was actually on Briggs Street. Lines were quickly stretched off the Squad where an aggressive interior attack darkened down the bulk of fire in about 10 minutes. Animals were removed from the first floor and all searches in the fire building and exposure were negative. Chief 7 advised companies to use caution to due to holes in the floor on the third floor. By 20 minutes into the incident, companies had the bulk of fire knocked down and were opening up chasing hot spots. A city salt truck was requested to the scene for icing conditions on the fire ground as temperatures registered in the teens.
