At 1940 hours, Box 1-4 sent Squad 8, Wagon 4, Tower 1, Truck 2, and Battalion Chief 5 (Lloyd) to 334 S. 14th Street, in the city’s Allison Hill neighborhood, for a structure fire. Squad 8 arrived in the area with a smoke condition and laid a line in from Swatara Street. Chief 5 assumed incident command and requested the first alarm upon his arrival bringing Wagon 3, Rescue 69, Air 13, and Chief 3 (Sattizahn) to the scene. Companies had fire in the fire and second floor rears of a 3 story, brick, duplex. The 250’ pre-connected line from the Squad was stretched for initial fire attack making a good knock on the bulk of the fire. A second line was charged from the Squad and used in the fire building. No extension located in the exposure and all searches were negative. The fire was placed under control at 2005 hours.
