1/27/21 - Lower Allen Township, PA - Hummel Ave

At 0130 hours, Cumberland County Box 12-03 sent Engine Companies 12, 13, 10, 68, Rescue 30, and Trucks 12, 14 to 1712 Hummel Ave at the White Hill Café for a building fire. Chief 12 arrived with heavy fire showing from Kreamer Brothers Glass Inc at 1714 Hummel Avenue, a 2 story commercial building with apartments above. A first alarm was requested bringing Engine Companies 37, 24, Rescue 14, Truck 69, RIT 33, and Air 13 to the scene. First arriving companies prepared to go in service with defensive operations as heavy fire was rapidly spreading throughout the building. Squad 13 dumped their monitor and supplied Truck 12 on Side A. Squad 12 supplied multiple blitz fires and handlines from the B side. The fire building collapsed early on in the incident and companies continued to pour water on the rubble for several hours. The building was destroyed and the business has been in the community since 1962.
