2/4/20 - Lower Paxton Township, PA - Cider Press Rd
Box 34-8 toned at 1035 hours sending Company 34, Engines 33, 32, 35, and 91-5 to 6210 Cider Press Road for a structure fire. Rescue 33 went enroute in place of the engine and advised by County of an unattached garage on fire starting to extend to the house. The working fire assignment was transmitted at 1036 hours. With no hydrants in the area, extra tankers were assigned to the box alarm. Truck 33 arrived on location with heavy fire from the garage, extending to the house, and they were taking a position on side A. Rescue 33 arrived as the first due engine company and nosed in to Ladder 33. Engine 34 arrived and supplied Rescue 33 with water. Two lines were stretched for initial operations with one going through the front door and one on the garage where a truck in the driveway was also involved. Truck 33 officer completed a 360 and reported 2 stories in the rear with heavy fire on the C side. Interior crews reported no extension to the house on the first floor. Truck companies opening the roof reported fire in the attic. A roof trench cut was able to stop the fire from spreading further into the attic. Additional companies were requested for command for manpower. Engine 40 dispatched to handle the fill site at Cider Press & Fairmount Roads. The fire was placed under control in about an hour with extensive overhaul. All primary and secondary searched negative.
