10/1/20 - Middletown, PA - N. Union St

A Thursday morning fire broke out in a Middletown duplex bringing firefighters from Dauphin and Lancaster County to the scene. Box 88-1 toned at 0712 hours for a reported structure fire at 441 N. Union Street. Company 88, Engines 54, 59, 74-1 were dispatched on the initial box alarm. Engine 88 went enroute with 6 personnel and advised of a house filling up with smoke and the occupants were evacuating. PD on scene reporting smoke from the eaves with fire possibly in 2 houses and an occupant in the 443 N. Union Street that needed immediate assistance getting out. A first alarm assignment was issued at 0719 hours bringing Engines 71, 55, Truck 50, and Rescue 59 to the scene. Engine 88 stretched on a 2.5 story, occupied, duplex and quickly removed the occupant in need of assistance. Two lines were stretched knocking down a fire on the second floor with no extension above or to the exposure. The fire was placed under control at 0742 and all searches were negative.
