At 2349 hours Box 1-3 sent Wagon 3, Squad 8, Tower 1, Truck 2, and Chief 4 (Wise) to reports of multiple calls for a house fire at 3136 N. 6th Street in the city’s Uptown neighborhood. Calls reported flames visible from the first floor, possible extending to the second floor. Truck 2 arrived in the area with smoke and arrived with smoke showing from the 1st floor of a 2 storey, occupied, brick, middle of the row, dwelling. Chief 4 requested the first alarm assignment bringing Wagon 4, Rescue 69, Air 13, and Chief 1 (Enterline) to the scene. 1 line stretched through the front used to knock down a fire involving the living room. Companies performed a search in the exposure for a report of an elderly occupant possible still inside. The search and fire extension proved to be negative in the exposure. The fire was contained to the first floor area of origin and brought under control in 25 minutes.
