7/1/19 - Swatara Township, PA - N. 71st St

Box 45-2 awakened members for a reported house fire in the Rutherford section of the township at 0446 hours. Company 91, Engines 40, 47-1, and Truck 33 took in the initial assignment with reports of a neighbor reporting fire thru the roof. Engine 91-5 arrived with a 1 story, brick, residential with fire showing on the C/D corner and requested the first alarm at 0452 hours. Rescues 46, 48, Air 91-2, and Rescue 69, along with a special call for Tower 1 made up the extra companies. 2 lines stretched and operated to knock down the bulk of the fire in the rear and the roof area. Crews advised to use caution for holes in the floor on side C. The house was reported vacant and all searches were negative. Companies were out for 3.5 hours.
