5/29/19 - Harrisburg, PA - State St

Harrisburg “B” shift firefighters quickly knocked down a morning dwelling fire shortly before shift change. At 0647 hours, Box 1-2 sent Wagon 4, Squad 8, Engine 2, Truck 2, and Chief 5 (Lloyd) to the 1700 block of State Street for fire from the third floor. Lt. 8 (Miller) riding on Engine 2, which is running in place of Tower 1 for the time being, radioed all hands and they had a job while enroute from Station 2, just blocks away. Dauphin County Communications were also receiving multiple calls. Chief 5 arrived on location reporting a 3 story duplex with a well involved bedroom fire on the second floor and special called Wagon 3 to the scene. Wagon 4 arrived and laid in from 17th and State Streets, where 2 hand lines were stretched by members of Wagon 4 and Squad 8. Engine and Truck 2 crews assisted with searches and ventilation. The bulk of the fire was knocked in less than 10 minutes and contained to the second floor front and middle rooms with some extension to the 3rd floor. All searches negative and the fire placed under control at 0722 hours.
