5/14/19 - East Hanover Township, PA - Homestead Rd
Firefighters from Lebanon and Dauphin counties battled a second alarm fire that ripped through Weavers Wrecking Yard and sent a civilian to the hospital with burns. At 2350 hours, Box 12-96 sent Engines 12, 75, 10, 11, Truck 12, Rescue 10, Tankers 6, 7, 11, Squad 12, and Attack 75 to 20 Homestead Rd for a commercial building fire with possible entrapment. Caller reported explosions and possibly someone trapped inside the building. An additional call from the business itself reported negative entrapment. Chief 57 arrived with a working fire in a one story, metal type, commercial building. The fire involved several cars in the rear that communicated throughout the building. One burn victim was located in the rear and was transported to a medical facility via Life Lion aero medical. A portable pond was established on side A and supplied numerous lines and Truck 12. All companies were in service with defensive operations. Several cuts has to be made in the side of the structure to allow access for water lines. Crews battled the fire for about 30 minutes before the bulk of the fire was knocked down. Companies remained on the scene for an extended period of time performing overhaul.
