4/3/18 - Harrisburg, PA - S. 13th & Berryhill Sts
At 0259 hours, Box 1-4 sent Squad 8, Wagon 4, Tower 1, Truck 2, and Captain 4 (Feldman) to 500 S. 13th Street for a possible structure fire. As companies were preparing to turn out, County advised they were receiving multiple calls and PD on scene reporting a well of structure. With that info Captain 4 requested the fist alarm assignment (Wagon 3, Rescue 69, Air 13). Squad 8 arrived and reported a working fire and secured a hydrant at S. 13th and Berryhill Streets. Heavy fire was showing from the first floor of a 2 story, brick on the Berryhill Street side attached to a 3 story, EOR, dwelling and extending to the second and third floors of both units. Captain 4 requested the second alarm at 0304 hours bringing mutual aid companies t the scene. 2 lines were stretched from the Squad and 1 line from Wagon 4 (using spare Engine 2) to knock down the bulk of the fire in about 15 minutes. Extensive overhaul was required to open up and check for hot spots.
