Shortly after 1700 hours, Box 1-4 sent Squad 8, Wagon 4, Tower 1, Truck 2, and Chief 4 (Wise) to the 1500 block of Naudain Street for a garage fire. Squad 8 arrived reporting a small fire in a garage to the rear of 1537 Berryhill Street. As companies were preparing to stretch a line smoke started to issue from side A of 1537 Berryhill Street. An additional line was stretched from the front and companies reported a possible fire in the basement of a 3 story, middle of the row, vacant dwelling. The garage extended directly into the basement and crews had some extension into the basement. The fire was quickly knocked down and the fire was placed under control in about 15 minutes.
