At 0639 hours, Box 27-1 sent Company 27 (Gratz), Engine 26 (Berrysburg), Truck 22 (Lykens), Rescues 23 (Wiconisco), 28 (Pillow) to 131 W. Market Street for a house fire. County Communications received a couple calls reporting smoke from the structure. Chief 27-2 on location with smoke showing. The fire building was an 2 story, occupied, with a garage type attachment in the rear. A first alarm was requested at 0657 hours bringing Engines 65 (Klingerstown), 1410 (Sacramento), Truck 20 (Millersburg), Rescue 21 (Elizabethville), and Tanker 26 (Berrysburg). Companies fought the fire defensively and worked to protect exposures on the B and D side. The bulk of the fire was knocked in about 45 minutes with extensive overhaul required.
