4-17-17 - Lower Paxton Township, PA - Wyndham Way
While companies were operating at multiple garages on fire in Paxtang Borough, Box 33-4 toned at 2342 hours for a report of a garage fire in the area of 5026 Mauretania Avenue in the Colonial Park section of the township. Company 33 and Engines 34, 35 responded on the initial alarm. Multiple calls were being received for the area of Mauretania or Virginia Ave. and possibly 140 Wyndham Way. Truck 33 reported a smoke column and fire shortly after responding from quarters and arrived with a working fire in an end of the row unit on Wyndham Way. Command 33 requested the first alarm assignment at 2147 hours bringing Engine 32, Truck 34, Rescue 35, and Air 35 to the scene. Engine 33 secured its own hydrant and supplied several lines while Truck 33 took a position on side C for master stream operations. A second alarm was struck at 2152 hours followed by a third alarm shortly after. Companies were evacuated from the second floor as heavy fire conditions spread quickly through the 2 story townhomes with garages in the rear. Multiple lines were stretched and operated on both the interior and exterior along with aerial streams from Trucks 33, 34, and 35. The fire was placed under control in 40 minutes. The fire affected 4 townhomes and destroyed 4 garages.
