12/9/17 - Lancaster, PA - Pearl St

At 2125 hours Lancaster City Engines 1, 2, 3, and Truck 2 were dispatched to 306 Pearl Street for a dwelling. Caller reported a dryer fire in the basement. PD on scene reporting a working fire. Engine 2 arrived with smoke showing from a 2 story, occupied, brick, semi-attached, dwelling. Truck 2 crew reported hoarding conditions. The majority of the fire was quickly knocked in the basement but difficulties in making entry allowed the fire to extended to the first floor. A second alarm was requested bringing in mutual aid companies from neighboring communities. Exterior lines were used to completely knock down the fire and companies remained on the scene for extensive overhaul. The fire eventually went to a 4 alarm assignment and caused $95,000 damage.
