9-13-16 - Harrisburg, PA - N. 4th St
At 0712 hours, Box 1-3 sent Wagon 3, Squad 8, Towers 1,2, and Chief 4 (Miller) to 2216 N. 4th Street in the Uptown neighborhood for a reported building fire. Wagon 3 arrived with smoke issuing from the rear and laid in from a hydrant at N. 4th and Woodbine Streets. Chief 4 arrived and assumed incident command reporting a 3 story duplex with smoke and fire pushing from the C side on the 1st and 2nd floors, and requested the first alarm assignment. Wagon 4, Rescue 69, and Air 41 completed the first alarm. 2 hand lines were stretched for an interior attack with fire heavy fire involving 2 houses. Chief 4 requested a third alarm for manpower as many crews due at this fire worked the Lemoyne lumber yard fire during the overnight hours. Additional alarm companies were Engine 30, 32, 37, Trucks 12, 32, 50, Rescue 40, 44, and Air 41. Chiefs 1 and 2 also were on location. The bulk of the fire was knocked down in about 15 minutes and the fire was kept primary to the rear of the duplex, one being occupied and the other vacant. 4 adults and 2 children were able to safely escape the fire with no injuries.
