3-9-16 - Lebanon, PA - N. 7th St
At 2322 hours, Box 15-06 in the City of Lebanon, sent Engines 17, 21, and Truck 20 to N. 7th and Maple Streets for a dwelling fire. Reports indicated a single caller in the area reporting a house on fire near that intersection. Incomings units reported a column of smoke in the area and requested the 2nd alarm at 2324 hours which brought Engine 14 (Neversink), 39 (Speedwell), Tower 9 (Ebenezer), Truck 18 (Lebanon City), Rescue 42 (Glenn Lebanon), and Squad 58 (Annville) to the scene. First arriving crews had heavy fire to the rear of (3) 2 story, attached, frame dwellings with 2 adults and 1 child trapped on the front porch roof. Those occupants were quickly rescued via ground ladders. Companies stretched a blitz fire to the rear where heavy fire consumed all floors in the rear with extension to the exposures. Several handlines were also deployed into the fire building and exposure. Primary and secondary searches were negative. The stubborn fire took about 1 hour to bring under control and heavily damaged homes at 730 N. 7th Street and the exposures at 728 & 726 N. 7th Street. 3 occupants and 1 firefighter were injured and 19 people left homeless.
