5/31/11 - New Cumberland Borough - Market Street

Around 1030 hours Cumberland Box 10-01 sounded for a reported house fire at 121 Market Street in New Cumberland Borough. Rescue 68 (Fairview Township) arrived with heavy smoke showing from a 2.5 story, occupied, duplex. A hand line was advanced quickly knocking down a fire involving a room with some extension on the second floor. Second and third alarm were struck for manpower as temperatures reached the low 90's. Multiple lines were stretched and the roof opened. The fire was believed to have started in an air conditioner.
