11/6/10 - Wrightsville Borough - Hellam Street
Wrightsville Station 41 and surrounding companies dispatched to 116 Hellam Street around 2330 hours for a structure fire. Companies on location with a working fire in an occupied multiple dwelling. A second alarm was requested as units went in service with an aggressive interior attack and to search for possible occupants. Heavy fire conditions forced several evacuation tones. Aerial streams from Truck 8-1(Columbia) and Truck 42 (East Prospect) knocked down the bulk of the fire and crews returned inside to fully extinguish. The fire building was heavily damaged with extension to the B side exposure building. Companies from York and Lancaster counties battled the blaze that injured at least one firefighter. The incident occurred just 2 buildings up from where a April 2008 four alarm fire ripped through the top floors of a mixed occupancy building at 108 Hellam Street.
