9/9/08 - Harrisburg - Woodbine St

Shortly before 0200 hours Box 1-3 transmitted for a structure fire with possible entrapment at 340 Woodbine Street in the Uptown section. Additional reports stated occupants on the second floor and a first floor porch on fire. Captain 4 (Clark), riding on Tower 2, arrived with heavy fire on the first floor of a 2 story, occupied double. Companies led off with a 2.5" into the step gun to knock down the fire which already involved both sides of the duplex and a similar unattached dwelling. Captain 2 (Snyder) requested the first alarm as fire was extending to the second floor. All occupants were safely removed and cared for by Life Team EMS. A bad hydrant at 4th and Woodbine hampered efforts but companies still made a good stop on the fire. The fire was placed under control in about 45 minutes. Companies on the scene: Box Alarm: Wagon 3, Tower 2, Squad 8, Tower 1, Captain 2; 1st Alarm: Wagon 4, Engine 6, Rescue 69 (RIT), Chiefs 1, 2, and 3; Special call: Engine 37 (Rescue), Truck 50 (Steelton), Air 13 (West Shore).
