11/22/08 - Steelton Borough - Lebanon St
Box 501 sent units to 321 Lebanon Street for a reported residential structure fire around 0100 hours. PD reported a fully involved structure. Chief 50 (Vance) arrived, confirmed a working fire, and established command on Channel 3. Engine 50 (Steelton) secured a hydrant at Bessemer and Lebanon Streets while crew members stretched on a occupied, 2.5 story, frame with a one-story addition attached to it. Fire involved the rear portion of the dwelling and the one story attached which was knocked down within a few minutes. Truck 50 set up on side B and prepared for roof ventilation. A full first alarm was requested by Chief 50, as heavy smoke poured from the structure, and crews worked hard in some of the coldest weather of the season. Extensive overhaul was needed to prevent fire from running the walls and extending through the structure and upper floors. Firefighters did a great job saving the structure from destroyed and Chief 50 starting placing companies in service around 0200 hours.
