Around 0600 hours as freezing rain was blanketing Central Pennsylvania, Dauphin County toned out a structure fire at 4740 Tuscarora Street. Engine 37-1 (Rescue) arrived with a working fire in a 2.5 story, wood frame, twin dwelling. The fire was located on a tight street with limited access just north of Front Street. Companies made an aggressive attack on the fire but were forced to retreat due to deteriorating conditions. Heavy fire consumed both dwellings as crews went defensive and Command 37 requested 2 additional engines. Companies knocked the bulk of the fire and performed extensive overhaul. Companies on location: Engines 37-1, 37 (Rescue), 32, 32-1 (Progress), 38 (Dauphin), 31 (Edgemont), 20 (Summerdale), Truck 32 (Progress), Rescue 35 (Linglestown), 37 (Rescue), Air 30 (Penbrook), Tankers 35 (Linglestown), 20 (Summerdale), 19 (West Enola).
