3/3/07 - Harrisburg - Crescent St
Task Force 1 sent to 334 Crescent Street for a structure fire at 2010 hours. Squad 8, Wagon 4, Tower 1,3, and Chief 7 (Kumpf) were advised enroute of multiple calls for a vacant building. Squad 8 arrived with smoke showing from a 3 story, brick, middle of the row, dwelling. A line was stretched to the interior where Lt. 8 (Bair) reported two rooms going on the second floor. An additional line was stretched by Wagon 4 crew into the exposure. Chief 7 hit for the second alarm bringing Wagon 3, Tower 2, and Rescue 69 (York Co) to the scene. Chiefs 1 (Konkle), 2 (Sevison), and 3 (Soulier) also responded to the location. City firefighters were able to make a great stop on the fire with only minor extension to the third floor and exposure. The fire was placed under control quickly and Chief 7 returned from the scene at 2237 hours. In a side note, 334 Crescent Street was the scene of a late night two-alarm fire on Nov. 26, 2006.
