06-30-2009 - Swatara Township - 2 Alarm Building
Fire destroyed an outbuilding used by Murphy's Home Improvement Center near the intersection of Bridge Rd
and Route 322 Westbound. The afternoon fire also damaged a home and the part of the main store as a column of
black smoke could be seen for miles around. A second alarm and special calls were needed to bring the fire under
control. Units remained on the scene....

06-29-2009 - Harrisburg City - Box Alarm Apartment
Harrisburg fire companies responded to a report of an apartment on fire at the Harrisburg Park Apartments
shortly after 2200 hours. A caller stated that there was a fire in the hallway and she was unable to evacuate
via the front door. She eventually escaped through a window before FD arrival. Squad 8 arrived with nothing
showing and dropped a line on Hanover Street...

On Saturday, June 13, 2009, The Newtown Fire Association of Newtown Borough (Bucks County Station 45) hosted the 89th Annual Bucks County
Fireman's Convention. Over 400 firefighters and 150 pieces of apparatus turned out for the parade. Pictured are
most of the apparatus that participated in the event.

06-17-2009 - Lower Paxton Township - 1 Alarm Dwelling
Box 33-5 toned out just before 0700 hours for a reported house on fire at 7 Rutherford Road in the Colonial
Park neighborhood. Caller reported a front bedroom on fire. Chief 33 (Shields) arrived with a working fire in an
occupied, 1.5 story, dwelling and requested the first alarm. Truck 33 (Colonial Park) laid in from the hydrant at
Locust Lane....

06-17-2009 - Penbrook Borough - Box Alarm Building
Box 301, 2500 block of Canby Street, reported structure fire, 0154 hours. PD on location with smoke showing
from Model City Cleaners, a large, 2 story, commercial building. Tower 1 (Harrisburg) took side A, Engine 30
(Penbrook)laid in from Canby & Walnut Streets, and Truck 32 (Progress) took side B. Several lines were stretched to
knock down the fire quickly....

06-07-2009 - Harrisburg City - Box Alarm Dwelling
1330 hours, Box 1-4 companies responded to 1207 Chestnut Street for a structure fire. Squad 8 arrived with smoke showing followed by a further report of a kitchen fire.
A line was stretched quickly knocking down the fire with no extension. Box Alarm: Wagon 4, Squad 8, Towers 1, 3,
and Captain 1 (Eiceman)

05-05-2009 - Harrisburg City - Box Alarm Dwelling
At 1735 hours, Harrisburg Box 1-2 companies responded to the 2400 block of Market Street for a
structure fire. Upon arrival of Chief 5 (Berger) heavy fire was venting from the rear of a 2 story, vacant, middle
of the row, townhouse. A line was stretched from Wagon 4 to make quick work of a rear bedroom going on the 2nd
floor......

05-02-2009 - Harrisburg City - New Wagon 3
The Harrisburg Bureau of Fire has placed in service a 2008 Pierce Arrow XT rescue pumper for Wagon 3. The new
unit, running out of Uptown Station 1, replaces a well worn 1988 Sutphen that originally served as Wagon 4. The
apparatus features a Hale QMAX 1500 gpm single stage pump with a 500 gallon water tank. Wagon 3 has already seen several working fires in the short 2 months it has been in service.

04-13-2009 - Steelton Borough - 1 Alarm Dwelling
Dauphin County Box 502 tones rang out around 1130 hours for reported smoke from the roof at 334 R Street in
the East End section of town. PD on location with heavy smoke from the eaves and no occupants were in the
residence. Chief 501 (Handley) arrived and requested the first alarm as heavy fire started to vent from a
second floor window of a 2 story, wood frame....

04-13-2009 - Harrisburg City - 1 Alarm Building
Approximately 0347 hours Box 1-3 sent companies to 1423 N. 6th Street in the Uptown section for a reported
structure fire. Chief 5 (Berger) went on the air enroute and advised by County Communications they had
received the fire alarm with PD on location with a fully involved building. Wagon 3 and Tower 2 arrived on
location with heavy fire showing....

04-07-2009 - Paxtang Borough - 1 Alarm+ Dwelling
Dauphin County Box 402 toned companies to 100 Paxtang Avenue for a reported house fire around 1845 hours.
Chief 40 reported the house, a large, occupied, 3 story, Victorian style, duplex to be well involved. Engine 40 (
Paxtang) arrived and laid a 5 inch supply from Brisban St and Paxtang Avenue to the front of the structure.
Heavy fire was showing from the rear.....

04-05-2009 - Middletown Borough - 1 Alarm Dwelling
Dauphin County Box 88-3 sounded around 1620 hours for a reported structure fire with entrapment at 148
Wilson Street. Chief 88 went enroute and informed that there was no entrapment but an occupant was trying to
put out a fire in the kitchen. Chief 88 arrived and had smoke showing from a 2.5 story, frame, duplex.
Engine 88 arrived, laid in from Wilson and Catherine Streets ....

04-03-2009 - Harrisburg City - 2 Alarm Church
Box 1-3 toned out at 2210 hours for a reported church fire at 5th and Division Streets in the Uptown district.
Wagon 3, Squad 8, Towers 1,2, and Chief 5 (Berger) were on the street quickly and informed of numerous calls
reporting a kitchen fire. Captain 4 (Clark) radioed that companies would be going to work with heavy smoke
on the block....
