Metro Harrisburg Fire Photos 2010
Monday, May 3, 2010 - Swatara Township - S. 19th Street between Gibson & Caledonia
Swatara Township fire companies dispatched to 1601 S. 19th Street at Power Componet Services for a gas leak shortly before 0600 hours. While investigating the gas leak, which was active from an outside meter break, crews noticed smoke issuing from the building. A structure fire assignment was dispatched out as companies went to work on a fire inside a one-story, commercial building. The fire was placed under control in about 45 minutes using a full first alarm assignment. The incident is under investigation but heavy rains during the overnight hours are believed to have played a role in the gas leak and fire. Units on scene: Engines 40, 41, 44, 456, Trucks 456, 50, City Tower 3, Rescue 88, Squad 45, and Air 30.
