Saturday, November 3, 2007 - Swatara Township - Main St
Shortly before 2000 hours Box 41-1 sounded for a reported structure fire in the 900 block of Main Street in the Bressler section of the township. PD arrived reporting no fire or smoke and kids running in and out of the house. Engine 41 (Bressler) arrived first on location followed by Engine 49 (Oberlin). Members were able to remove 3 infants from the structure who were not breathing or suffering from smoke inhalation. Additional EMS crews were dispatched to handle the patients which included adult occupants. The bedroom fire, in the 1.5 story, brick, private dwelling, was quickly knocked with a handline that produced very little smoke from the structure. It has been reported that 2 infants suffered fatal injuries from this fire. Companies remained on the scene until 0030 at which time the box was placed in service.
