Metro Harrisburg Fire Photos 2007
Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - Swatara Township - Eisenhower Blvd
Units were dispatched to Eisenhower Boulevard in the area of the concrete jungle for an accident with entrapment and involving fire around 0300 hours. EMS from Company 456 on scene confirming entrapment and fully involved vehicle. Engine 41 (Bressler) arrived shortly followed by Engine 49 (Swatara Twp) and hand lines were stretched from both units assisted by Rescues 44 (Lawnton) and 49 (Swatara Twp). These units just cleared a CO alarm in the township and Engine 41, already on the street, was added to the box. Once companies extinguished the fire it was determined that one person was a confirmed Signal 12. The accident occurred in a grass median between two ramps - westbound Route 322 off ramp to I-83 north via Eisenhower Blvd and Eisenhower Blvd on ramp to I-83 south. This heavily traveled area that connects I-83, I-283, Route 322, and Eisenhower Blvd. have kept Companies 44 and 49 busy in the last few weeks.
