Metro Harrisburg Fire Photos 2006

Tuesday, April 25, 2006 - Steelton Borough - N. River Alley

Around 0030 hours Dauphin County Box 501 sounded for a reported structure fire with entrapment at 2nd and Pine Streets in Steelton Borough. Engine 50 (Steelton) arrived with heavy fire showing on both floors of a 2 story, frame dwelling with confirmed entrapment. The fire was located in the first block of N. River Alley, a small street running parallel between Front & Second Streets. Engine 41 (Bressler) arrived 2nd due engine and supplied Engine 50 with water. Due to heavy fire conditions searches were delayed and Chief 50 (Vance) requested additional units. Truck 32 (Progress) crew removed a child from the fire building but efforts to revive were unsuccessful. Crews continued to battled the stubborn blaze as fire took hold of all floors and the attic, at one point evacuating the structure and conducting a PAR check. Truck 50 went in service and knocked down the remaining visible fire. Command 50 requested numerous special calls throughout the incident. The fire building was completely gutted by the fast moving blaze.
