Wednesday, November 8, 2006 - Lower Paxton Township - Locust Ln

Dauphin County tones dropped around 2225 hours for Box 33-4 for the address of 4700 Locust Lane at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Lower Paxton Township. Caller reported heavy, black, smoke from the roof area of the church. Chief 33 (Shields) arrived on location reporting a working fire with fire thru the roof. Companies began an interior attack while crews from Truck 33 and 34 set up on sides A and C. Command requested numerous special calls as heavy fire burned in the center of the church. Firefighters were able to get a good knock on the fire preventing an extension to the building, which is partially under construction. Companies remained on the scene for several hours with extensive overhaul. Units on location: Engines 31 (Edgemont), 32-1 (Progress), 33 (Colonial Park), 34 (Paxtonia), 35 (Linglestown) , 37 (Rescue-Susquehanna Twp), 40 (Paxtang), 44 (Lawnton), Trucks 33 (Colonial Park), 34 (Paxtonia), Cumberland Co. 12 (Lower Allen), Rescues 40 (Paxtang), 44 (Lawnton), Cumberland Co. Squad 13 (West Shore BOF), and Air 35 (Linglestown).
