Monday, January 25, 2010 - 1848 State Street - First Alarm Dwelling
Harrisburg Box 1-2 companies responded to a structure fire at 1848 State Street around 2345 hours. Tower 1 on location with heavy fire in the rear of a dwelling and informed Wagon 4 of a hydrant at 19th and State Streets. Wagon 4 encountered difficulties in keeping the hose attached to the State Street hydrant when charged. A secondary supply line was laid in from Walnut Street. Captain 3 (Clark) sounded the first alarm while crews were advancing lines into the structure. The fire was quickly knocked down and primary and secondary searches were negative. The fire was placed under control in about 25 minutes. Box alarm: Wagon 4, Squad 8, Towers 1,2, Captain 3 (Clark); 1st alarm: Wagon 3, Tower 3, Rescue 69, Chiefs 4 (Hartman), 8 (Snyder).
