Box 1-4 sent “A” platoon companies to 1619 Swatara Street for a structure fire around 2030 hours. Chief 7 arrived with heavy fire showing from a 3 story, occupied, frame duplex and requested the balance of the box. Companies led off with the stang from Squad 8 quickly knocking down the bulk of the fire on the second floor. Hand lines were advanced to the fire building as well as the exposure to hit the remaining hot spots. Multiple ground ladders were also placed on all sides of the structure. Companies made a good stop preventing further extension. Red Cross was assisting with the displacement of 8 adults. Box alarm: Squad 8, Wagon 4, Towers 1,3, Chief 7; 1st alarm: Wagon 3, Tower 2, Rescue 69 (RIT), Chief 2.
