Harrisburg fire companies responded to a report of an apartment on fire at the Harrisburg Park Apartments shortly after 2200 hours. A caller stated that there was a fire in the hallway and she was unable to evacuate via the front door. She eventually escaped through a window before FD arrival. Squad 8 arrived with nothing showing and dropped a line on Hanover Street for Wagon 4 to pick up. Upon investigation companies reported high heat and smoke on the lower level just inside the doorway. A line was stretched from the Squad and, once located, the fire was quickly knocked down. This was the second fire to strike the city today as companies battled an afternoon fire on N. 16th Street that left 4 people homeless.
