Harrisburg Fire Photos 2007
Sunday, March 25, 2007 - 335 Market Street
Task Force 1 and Chief 7 (Kumpf) toned to 335 Market Street "Governors Place Apartments" for an automatic fire alarm at 1350 hours. Chief 7 arrived with nothing showing from a multi-story, occupied, apartment building located in the downtown section of the city. He further reported water flowing and requested the Squad to secure the system. Interior crews reported a fire in a 3rd floor apartment with a severely burned occupant. Chief 7 requested Wagon 3 and Tower 2 for manpower. Chief 1 (Konkle) responded to the scene at this time as well. The fire was quickly knocked and companies were able to contain the sprinkler system. Firefighters initially attempted to extricate the patient via tower ladder but decided on the using the elevator. Engine 30 (Penbrook) set up a landing zone for Life Lion at the Penn Dot building on S. Front St. City companies cleared the scene about 1.5 hours.
