Harrisburg Fire Photos 2005

Friday, September 9, 2005 - 1632 N. 4th Street

Wagon 3, Squad 8, Towers 1, 2 and Chief 6 (Berger) dispatched on Task Force 3 to 1632 N. 4th Street in the Uptown for a structure fire. Wagon 3 and Tower 2 arrived at 1500 hours with smoke showing. Chief 6 advised of heavy fire in the basement and companies were having difficulty accessing the fire, 'strike the second alarm.' The fire building was a 3 story, brick, occupied, middle of the row dwelling, one of a few that remain in a neighborhood that was once dominated by brick row homes. Shortly after requesting the extra alarm interior crews reported that they had the fire knocked down. Chief 6 advised Wagon 4 and Tower 3 to stage at 4th and Harris Streets. Control was marked at 1525 hours. Ironically, this same building was the site of a March 15, 2002 one-alarm fire.
