Detroit Devils Night 2008

Friday, October 31, 2008, Otis and Gilbert, Box Alarm, Vacant 1.5 story frame, Engines 8/5/17, Ladder 8, Chief 5, 0045 hours. We were about 1 mile from this location hanging out at Livernois & I-94. We could see the smoke before the box alarm came across. Due to other companies engaged, Engine 8 was first in to stretch on this vacant. A loud, muffled explosion occured while companies were waiting for water and the fire took off. Luckily, no injuries happened at this fire in a heavily gang infested neighborhood.
